You know, that CopyOMEGA Ω Speedmaster Apollo 8 “Dark Side of the Moon”, it’s a real thing. They say it’s some kinda fancy watch. I seen a picture, all black and shiny. Makes me think of that black pan I used to cook with, the one that got all rusty. This watch, though, they say it’s made of something called ceramic. Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a fancy bathroom, not on a watch.

They keep goin’ on about how it’s s’posed to look like the moon. The dark side, they say. Well, I ain’t never been to the moon, but I seen it plenty of times at night. It don’t look like that watch, not really. Maybe a little, around the edges.

They say some fellas, Borman, Lovell, and Anders, went up there in a rocket, way back when. 1968, I reckon. They was lookin’ at the moon real close, closer than anyone ever had. This watch is s’posed to be some kinda… tribute, they call it. To those fellas and their trip. Sounds like a big to-do for a watch, if you ask me.

This new CopyOMEGA Speedmaster, they call it Apollo 8, just like the mission to the moon in 1968. It is a new model based on the old one, they update it. It’s all black, ‘cept for a few little bits. And they say it’s got some fancy writin’ on it, somethin’ about the moon. Like I said, I ain’t never seen the moon up close, but I guess it’s somethin’ special.

I heard them talkin’ about the strap, made of somethin’ called Cordura. Sounds tough, like that old canvas we used to use for tarps. They say it fits the watch real good. This whole thing, this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s a package, they say. Like a Christmas present, but way more expensive. I heard it costs more than my old truck! $12,000! Can you believe that? For a watch!

They say this watch, it’s based on some other Speedmaster watches. Fourth generation, they say. Don’t ask me what that means. It’s got all these numbers, 105.012, 42mm, 50mm, 12.97mm. Makes my head spin just thinkin’ about it. Like tryin’ to count all the chickens in the coop. They say it’s the same size as some other Speedmaster, but I don’t know nothin’ about that.

  • This Omega watch, they been makin’ these Speedmaster things for a long time.
  • They say it was part of them Apollo missions, the ones where they went to the moon.
  • Seems like a big deal for a watch, if you ask me.
  • But I guess some folks like that kinda thing.

This new CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, it’s got somethin’ special inside, they say. A 3869, they call it. It’s like the heart of the watch, I reckon. They say it’s like another number, 3861, but they did somethin’ to it with a laser. Sounds like somethin’ out of one of them science fiction shows. They say it makes it look like the moon, the near side. Well, I guess that’s somethin’.

They say this CopyOMEGA company, they shocked everyone a while back, in 2013. Made a Speedmaster all black, with that ceramic stuff. Like I said, sounds like somethin’ for a bathroom, not a watch. But I guess it’s fancy. This Apollo 8, it’s like that one, but they added more stuff. Went the extra mile, they say. Or 238, whatever that means. The moon is far away, I reckon that is what they meant.

This ain’t just any watch. It’s a CopyOMEGA Speedmaster. And it’s s’posed to be all about the moon. They say it is a tribute to the Apollo 8 mission. Those fellas went to the moon in 1968, you know. Brave men. This new CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8 is special, I guess. They even put a little picture of a rocket on it, that Saturn V rocket. I seen pictures of that rocket. It’s big! Like a giant firecracker.

This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, it is black ceramic, all fancy like. They sell it online, on their website. They call it elegant. I guess it is kinda pretty, in a dark, shiny way. Like a crow’s wing. But $12,000? For a watch? That’s a lot of money. You could buy a whole flock of chickens for that kinda money! Or a new roof for the barn! Or a good used truck! I don’t know. Maybe it’s worth it to some folks. It ain’t worth it to me, that’s for sure. But then again, I ain’t never been to the moon.

This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Apollo 8, this “Dark Side of the Moon”, I guess it’s somethin’ special. For folks who like that kinda thing. For me, I’ll stick to my old watch. It tells time just fine. And it don’t cost an arm and a leg.
