This here thing, this Yves Saint Laurent YSL ENVELOPE BAG, they askin’ for a quote, huh? Well, I ain’t never been one for them fancy names, but I seen a thing or two in my day. This bag, it’s somethin’ else, I tell ya. Seen a picture of it, all shiny and new. Costs more than my old mule, I betcha!
They call it an “Envelope” bag. Looks like somethin’ you’d put a letter in, ‘cept this one’s probably for holdin’ money and such. Fancy folks like their fancy things, I reckon. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, just ain’t my cup of tea. I’m more of a simple type, you know. A good, strong, plain, old purse. But this here YSL ENVELOPE BAG, it’s got that big ol’ YSL on it, all shiny-like. Must be important, that there symbol. Folks sure do pay a lot for it.
I was readin’ a little bit about it, and they use the word, that it is HandbagEnvelope. What a fancy word. My daughter, she lives in the city now, she’s got a couple of those fancy bags. Says it makes her feel good. Well, to each their own, I always say.
- This bag made in Italy, they say.
- That’s far away.
- Must be why it’s so pricey.
They say it’s made of leather. Good, strong leather, I hope. For that kinda money, it better last a lifetime, that’s all I gotta say. My old leather bag, it’s seen a lot of years, and it’s still holdin’ up. But this YSL ENVELOPE BAG, it’s all quilted and stitched up fancy-like. Looks like they put a lot of work into it, I gotta give ’em that. The word is Saint Laurent’s Envelope, I think. I don’t know who is this Saint, but maybe I will ask my daughter about it. I think she knows.
They got different sizes, too, I seen. Big ones, small ones, some with a chain, some without. Like choose your own adventure. And different colors, too. Black, red, even some shiny ones that look like they’re made of snake skin. That YSL logo is always there, though. Big and bold. Like a brand on a cow, but fancier. This bag is for rich people, I think.
There is one guy, his name is Saint Laurent designer Anthony Vaccarello, they say he made this bag, the Envelope. What a strange name for a bag. He must be an important person, I think. I also saw that it is marked with chevron quilting, and the iconic YSL logo. I still don’t know what is chevron quilting. But I think it must be somethin’ fancy.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ this YSL ENVELOPE BAG ain’t a nice bag. It’s just not for me. I’m happy with my old purse. It holds my money, my keys, my little bit of this and that. Don’t need no fancy YSL on it to make me feel good. But if you got the money, and you like that kinda thing, then you go right ahead.
They say it’s a “classic.” Means it’ll never go outta style, I suppose. Like a good pair of overalls, or a strong, sturdy pair of boots. Those things last forever. Maybe this bag will, too. For that price, it better. This bag is heavy. It is about 2.9 lb. That is about 1.3 kg.
They got a whole bunch of them Yves Saint Laurent bags. All kinds. Different shapes, different sizes. You could spend a whole day just lookin’ at ’em. It is an Envelope flap with YSL logo. They say they got a website, too. They call it Official Website. Everything’s online these days. Back in my day, you had to go to the store to buy somethin’. Now you can just click a button, and it shows up at your door. World’s changin’, that’s for sure.
So, there you have it. My thoughts on this here YSL ENVELOPE BAG. It’s a fancy bag, for fancy folks. If that’s you, then more power to ya. Me? I’m gonna stick with what I know. But I appreciate you askin’ my opinion. It’s always nice to be included, even if it’s just about a bag I’ll never own. They sell this bag in Canada, too. I have never been to Canada. I heard that it is very cold there.
Well, this old lady’s tired of talkin’ about bags. Time for me to go make supper. You young folks have a good day, ya hear? And remember, it ain’t what’s on the outside that counts, it’s what’s on the inside. Even if that inside is just an old, beat-up wallet in a plain, old purse. This YSL bag is like a dream to me. But I am too old to dream now. I just want to live my life peacefully, that’s all.
