This here, this Yves Saint Laurent, what’s it called, the COLLEGE BAG, you see it in them fancy stores, all shiny and new. Cost a pretty penny, that’s for sure. They say it’s a big deal, this YSL COLLEGE BAG. I seen ’em, them rich folks carryin’ ’em around. Big city stuff, not somethin’ you see much ’round here. But hey, if you got the money, I guess you can buy whatever you want, right?
Them YSL bags, they all over them magazines my granddaughter reads. She keeps pointin’ ’em out, sayin’ “Grandma, look at this one!” I tell ya, they look nice enough, but I wouldn’t know what to do with one. My old purse does just fine, holds everything I need. But these young folks, they like their fancy things. They say it’s fashion. This Saint Laurent handbag is all the rage.
Now, they say these bags, these YSL, they cheaper over in Europe. Paris, that’s where they say the best deals are. Like, 20% cheaper, maybe even more! Imagine that! You fly all the way over there, just to get a cheaper purse. Seems a bit much to me, but what do I know? If you’re gettin’ one of them YSL bags, might as well get it for less, I suppose.
There’s somethin’ called VAT, some kinda tax thing. If you’re from over here, not from Europe, you get some money back. So that makes the YSL COLLEGE BAG even cheaper in Paris. More money for other stuff, I guess. Maybe a nice scarf, or some of them fancy chocolates.
Some folks, they get confused. They see YSL, then they see Saint Laurent. They think it is different bags. They’re all mixed up! It’s the same thing, just different names, different drawin’s for the letters. Still Saint Laurent. My granddaughter told me. She knows all about these things. She says it’s all about the, what’s it called, the “ready-to-wear” and new bags. Don’t ask me what that means, but she says it’s important. All sounds like a lot of fuss to me. I seen ’em online, too. These YSL bags. They got websites now, where you can just click and buy. No need to go to them fancy YSL specialty stores. They send it right to your house. I guess that’s convenient. But I still like to see things in person, touch ’em, feel ’em before I buy. Especially somethin’ that costs that much. These young’uns, though, they do everything online these days. This Saint Laurent handbag is all over the internet. They even do online buyin’ for their bags!
This YSL COLLEGE BAG, it’s got a chain, a metal one. Shiny gold color, usually. And a flap, you know, that goes over the top. Keeps everything inside, I suppose. And they got that YSL thing, the letters, right on the front. So everyone knows you got a fancy bag. Me, I don’t need everyone knowin’ what I got. I just need a bag to hold my stuff.
They got different colors, too. Black, of course, that’s a common one. But I seen red ones, and white ones, even some with patterns. All kinds of fancy stuff. Too much for me to keep track of. But if you’re into that, I guess it’s nice to have choices. This YSL, it’s got a lot of choices.
I heard them sayin’ these YSL bags are made real good. Good leather, they say. Last a long time. Well, for that price, it better last a lifetime! My old leather bag, it’s lasted me years. And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. But these Saint Laurent, they say it’s worth it. I guess if you got the money to spend, why not?
