Fake Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar: Classic Style on a Budget

Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this watch, trying to get it to look like the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. You know, the one with the classic style. It’s been a bit of a journey, but I’m excited to share what I’ve done.

First off, I got my hands on this watch. It wasn’t the real deal, obviously, but it was a decent starting point. The case was about 40mm, and it was roughly 11mm thick, which seemed pretty close to the JLC Master Ultra Thin Moon I saw someone online talking about. That’s the vibe I was going for – classic and sleek.

  • Started with the case: I measured it out, made sure it was the right size and thickness. It felt good in my hand, not too bulky.
  • Dial tinkering: This was the fun part. I wanted that clean, classic look. I played around with different layouts, trying to get that sub-seconds dial just right. I remember reading somewhere about someone choosing between the Master Calendar and the Master Ultra Thin Moon, and how they liked the sub-seconds with the moon phase. That sounded cool, so I tried to incorporate that.
  • Hands and markers: These little details took some time to get right. I mean we are trying to make the most elegant watch here, right? I experimented with different styles until I found something that looked elegant and readable.

After a lot of trial and error, I finally got it to a point where I was happy with it. It wasn’t perfect, but it had that classic, ultra-thin vibe I was aiming for. And you know what they say, Jaeger-LeCoultre is one of the best at making watches, and while I’m no JLC, I think I did a pretty decent job of capturing that spirit. I read that becoming the best in the watch business like Rolex requires considering various factors, and it’s easier said than done, which I totally understand now.

It’s not exactly like the original, but it’s got the essence of it. I’m pretty stoked with how it turned out. It’s been a fun project, and I’ve learned a lot along the way. Plus, now I’ve got a unique watch that’s kind of like the JLC Master Ultra Thin, but with my own personal touch. This is not an easy job, trust me, there are many companies trying but not many succeeded.

It was a fun ride, and I’m happy with what I managed to put together. I mean, I’m no watchmaker, but hey, I gave it my best shot!
